Product Description for Min .40ct 6x4mm Oval Paraiba Tourmaline, Erv = $500.00Tourmaline was named after "turmali", the Sinhalese word for "mixed", probably because of the variety of colors it's found in and the fact that it can be bi-, tri- or parti-colored. Tourmaline ranks a tough 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness. It is the national gemstone of the U.S. but is found all over the world, with colors varying depending on its origin. Indicolite is the name for the deep blue to greenish-blue variety, and rubellite is the pink-red color.

"I ordered two of these stones and when I received them they were NOT as they appeared on TV. I looped both stones and they both had what appeared to be a horizontal crack straight thru the middle of the stones. Also, one of the stones was so scratched and had black line inclusions on both sides of the stone. I was SO looking forward to setting these in a ring and I returned both of them."
