"I ordered one of these spessarite garnet parcels and received it today. I was impressed.I received 20 gemstones in all and they were 4.5 mm and 4mm round. The color was mandarin to yellow. The quality was eye clean to almost loupe clean. I know that they will make some awesome earrings and if casted together in a group a great pendant and or ring."

"because they are my favorite gemstone. In both parcels some where more tangarine color than others. I also received several stones over one ctw; which I am delighted to have. The wholesale price is about $400 ctw for the tangarine color, so I did very well. These will remain in my collection til my grandkid get them someday. If they do not discover another source (since all mines now are not producing) can you imagine what the future prices will be??? I would rather spend the money on the stones I like than get a parcel with more common stones....thanks jtv for a great parcel at a reasonable price. p.s. I purchased my parcels over a year ago and I believe I spent $99 for each parcel, now they are less!!!"

"This parcel contains small but clear, beautiful stones. They appear much larger in the picture and on TV than in reality. All are in the 1/4 carat range, perfect for a cluster or channel set eternity ring, but not really suitable for solitaire setting. If you don't mind spending the money to have them designed into a ring, bracelet or necklace, they are a good deal. Katrinka"

    Spessartite

    Fast Facts

Spessartite is a brilliant transparent gemstone. The colors of spessartite garnets can range from a bright vibrant orange to a deep red-orange color, and even some brownish and greenish oranges. Spessartite was once just a collector's gem but moved into mainstream gemology in the 1990s. Spessartite is 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness and, like all garnet, is untreated, so the beautiful color that you see is strictly as nature created it.
