Product Description for Min 11.00ct Mm Varies Oval Cats Eye Rutilated Quartz-Q4V061Most varieties of quartz are prized for having few or no inclusions, which increases their value; rutilated quartz is more valuable and sought after because of its inclusions. These "inclusions" are golden needles of rutile that form different patterns inside the stone, sometimes referred to as "Venus hair." Each pattern is as different as two snowflakes are from each other, and some of them are remarkably beautiful. It is a great collector's stone and ranks 7 on Mohs' hardness scale.

"This stone looked totally rutilated on the web site, but when I received it, it had areas of completely clear quartz that made the stone look kind of patchy. I already had some rutilated quartz from a mixed parcel, so I sent this stone back."

"This stone is quite unusual as well as beatiful. It has a tiny bit off centered cat's eye , but overall it is fascinating. I have shopped at JTV for over 7years and have come to know a few disappointments. This is not a dissapointment.
My only concern is, that although it was not damaged it was loose in the box."
