"This gorgeous pendant arrived today, and I am amazed! From the picture, it appeared to be a deep magenta-red with no color play, but still beautiful. It is so much nicer than is shown on-line, which is fairly impressive! The crimson color is deep and rich, with tiny flashes of grape and orange tones coming through -very subtle but present in natural sunlight and indoor lighting. This is an excellent value for the price. The stones are well set and secure. This is a substantial pendant that will go perfectly with that little black dress, as well as with jeans and a turtleneck. Can't wait to wear it. Way to go JTV! Now we need a matching, smaller carat weight pair of dangle earrings in the same stone!!! Take a chance on this pendant, ladies. You won't be disappointed!"

"I had high hopes for this pendant. I was quited disappointed when I opened the box. The color was poor. It wasn't a crimson red as I expected, more of a pinky red. The bale was very small for a necklace of that size. I couldn't fit any of my chains through it. Needless to say, I sent it back."

"This is a beautiful pendant. It is crimson but not as deep as the picture nor as I really wanted. There is little room for gold chain thru the tiny bale for such a substantial stone. Have it on a very small chain that is almost invisible. The stone stands out beautifully, just afraid of chain breaking."

"I sent this back as the bail was ridiculously small for this size pendant. Also, there was a haze over the stone and it was more purpley. I wanted a true red."

Fast Facts
| The origin of the name could be from the ancient Topasos Islands near Greece. |
| Topaz can be very costly and rare when they occur naturally in unusual colors. All colors have been a popular choice for jewelry since European royalty started collecting gemstones. |
| Europeans preferred colorless Topaz as a substitute for diamond when those stones were unavailable. The reason was because it was often available in excellent clarity rough and took a beautiful high polish. |
Topaz is the birthstone of December. |
