Product Description for Min 15.50ct 18mm Round Rutilated Quartz-63R180AMost varieties of quartz are prized for having few or no inclusions, which increases their value; rutilated quartz is more valuable and sought after because of its inclusions. These "inclusions" are golden needles of rutile that form different patterns inside the stone, sometimes referred to as "Venus hair." Each pattern is as different as two snowflakes are from each other, and some of them are remarkably beautiful. It is a great collector's stone and ranks 7 on Mohs' hardness scale.

"I've wanted one of these for some time, but the price was a bit high - then I happened to turn to JTV at just the right time. This is going to make the most wonderful ring! The striations in the stone are exceptional - which is why I like it. I got two more to make into earrings!"

"I order so much from jtv, I never know which item will be arriving in the mail. When I opened the rutilated quartz (15.50 carats), I thought it was a large yellow labradorite, but I didn't remember ordering another one of those. When I took it out of the jar, I realized it was the rutilated quartz. It is gorgeous and so clear. I had ordered the rutilated quartz previously, and it was a murky color, and I returned it. But boy, you better believe I'm keeping this one. I'll be looking for an 18mm round pendant setting from jtv to go with this one. I love jtv. It's so easy to return something if it does not meet your expectations (although I rarely return anything). JTV, you rock! YaYa"
