"I was quite shocked upon receiving this stone. I was expecting a stone much like pictured. Actually, under direct lighting and with a loupe, the color is quite purpleish. The picture is kind of a brownish red. It does not at all do this stone any justice. It's very rich and beautiful-very distinctive. After researching Almandine Garnet, I found that it is supposed to be purpleish. It's a very royal-looking stone. Not at all like a common red garnet. A great addition to my collection."
