    Yag is short for yttrium aluminum garnet. Yag is a manmade gemstone that, like CZ, does not have a counterpart in nature. Yag has the same basic crystal structure of garnet but is not garnet. Dopants are added to the mix to create the various colors that yag is created in. It's a fun and affordable diamond stimulant ranking a durable 8 on Mohs' hardness scale.

    "This is a beautiful stone! I'm not usually that into synthetic material, but for a diamond simulant, this is the best! Has color and clarity of a D-VVS1 diamond. I'm in the industry and it is very hard to tell this is not a diamond without instruments. Much more realistic than CZ. When my mother saw the stone she was so amazed she asked me to order her one."
