Product Description for 1.00ctw Mixed Round Natural Yellow Diamond Parcel-GP3450The name "diamond" comes from the Greek word "adamas", meaning "the unconquerable." Diamond earned this named as the hardest gemstone, ranking a 10 on the Mohs' scale--the highest rank possible. Diamond's cutting resistance is 140 times greater than ruby and sapphire, the next hardest stones on the scale. Irradiation treatment is sometimes used to enhance the color of diamonds. During this treatment, the stone is exposed to high-energy sources (like electrons) to create wonderful colors.

"Upon receipt I was completely disappointed and returned the loose stones. There was very little if any sparkle and looked way too cheap. Looked better on the television. Could not imagine using these as acent stones in any setting, DISAPPOINTMENT."

"I must agree that these stones are the smallest I've ever seen. They were surely machine faceted and Tinkerbell examined them. They are beautiful in color and there is actually one stone that can be used as a melee, so I will keep this parcel for that one stone. Sorry guys, but this parcel is a bust."

"Natural diamonds at this price are a steal! These accent size diamonds are sweet! I plan on using their small size to encircle or otherwise accent a larger center stone on a ring, as well as to (maybe) to make cluster earrings, etc. I will need more parcels in order to make the clusters to get the color matches that I want. But anyone should feel confident in their purchase of only one parcel if they want to replace one or two tiny accent stones in their current jewelry as there will be enough that match in hue and tone to do that. The largest was approximately 2.5 mm and there were a few in this range, while most are very tiny--as the picture shows."

Fast Facts
| Diamond is the hardest known gemstone on earth. |
| In 1477, Archduke Maximillian gave his betrothed a ring set with a diamond as a love token, making it the first recorded diamond engagement ring. |
| Diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning invincible. |
| Some beautiful purple color garnets will often be found in kimberlite (blue ground) soil samples in diamond rich areas and called diamond indicators. |
As diamonds are formed by nature, most naturally develop minute imperfections known as inclusions. A diamond is considered “clean” if a trained eye cannot see inclusions when viewing the diamond through a color corrected lens at 10 times magnification. |
|
Diamond is crystallized carbon, the only gem composed of a single element. The most popular diamonds are traditionally colorless, but they can also be found in yellow and brown colors. Although much rarer, diamonds known as “fancies” also come in blue, red, pink, green, orange, black, lavender and purple. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, diamond is the world’s hardest substance at 10. It has a high luster and primary sources include South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Botswana, Russia, Zaire, Brazil, Ghana, Angola, Central African Republic and Canada.
