"I have looked for a long time to find not only an ornate styled ring but one with beautiful iolites. It has such a victorian look to it not only because of the filagree but also the iolites. For some reason only a few gems in my opinion work well with this antiqued look and iolites are definitely one of them! I think cause the iolites are such a soft rich color and not bright an flashy like many other stones which work better with a more modern setting. This one is a keeper for sure!!!! Thanks JTV for the best selection of jewelry to fit everyones taste! Thank you"

"What a disappointment! Compared to other iolite items I've ordered from JTV, the stones in this ring were dull, pale, grayish in color and had no sparkle. I usually have good experience with my JTV orders, so I expected a lot more from this ring. All my other iolite jewlery has flashes of violet and purple and also a wonderful sparkle, which is why iolite is one of my favorite gemstones. . This one looked different than the video and was a major let-down. I'm sending it back."

"This ring is gorgeous! The picture doesn't do it complete justice. The color is very saturated and the milgraining adds that special touch. You won't go wrong with this ring."

"This ring is soooo pretty! I received this ring for Christmas from my son. The Iolite is so blue and pretty. I can see why it is called the "new tanzanite". And right now you can get it in the pretty blue color, unlike most tanzanites, unless you can pay a fortune for them. I wear this ring a lot and get tons of compliments on it. You can't go wrong on this one."

Fast Facts
Iolite is a clean, beautiful stone that is still very affordable.
It can be found in blue to purple to light gray colors.
The Vikings used iolite as a light polarizer, using it to see through the haze and determine the exact location of the sun on overcast days.
With a very strong pleochroism, iolite changes colors when viewed from different angles.
Iolite is found in Myanmar (previously called Burma), Brazil, India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and the United States.
