"I odered two of these and would have kept one if I did not have to send the entire order back. The other stone was missing color at the bottom. It was just clear and made the stone look like it had a hole in it. Also, these were not a true red like I had wanted, they were more purpley. I would have loved to make a pendant and ring, but back they went and I did not reorder. I think with this stone you can get a better deal on the jewelry that is already made."

"I love this crimson red topaz, but will return it for exchange because there are two tiny, but visible, chips on top of the stone. I hope I can get a replacement because I do love it."

Fast Facts
| The origin of the name could be from the ancient Topasos Islands near Greece. |
| Topaz can be very costly and rare when they occur naturally in unusual colors. All colors have been a popular choice for jewelry since European royalty started collecting gemstones. |
| Europeans preferred colorless Topaz as a substitute for diamond when those stones were unavailable. The reason was because it was often available in excellent clarity rough and took a beautiful high polish. |
Topaz is the birthstone of December. |
