    Heliodor is the yellow variety of beryl, cousin to aquamarine, emerald, and morganite. Other colors of beryl are referred to by their color, such as golden beryl or red beryl. Heliodor is found in Brazil, Madagascar, the U.S. (North Carolina and California), in Middle Eastern countries, and Russia. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on Mohs' scale.

    "I BOUGHT TWO CANARY TOURMALINE STONES AFTER SEEING THEM ON T.V. AND AFTER THE 2 HOSTS OOZED ABOUT THE STONES CLARITY: "LOOKS LIKE YELLOW DIAMONDS!!!!" -- WHICH I AGREED WITH. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE LIME GREEN OR LIGHT PERIDOT STONES!! THEY ARE GOING BACK. I HAD BOUGHT A DIAMOND SEMI-MOUNT RING TO PUT THIS STONE IN, BUT--FORGET IT! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THAT THE STONES DO NOT REMOTELY REACH THE COLOR OR CLARITY OF YELLOW DIAMONDS."
