    The name "emerald" comes from the Greek "smaragdos" meaning "green stone." Except the rare few, emeralds have inclusions that are generally accepted as well as treatments, which are normally stated and should not be a deterrent to purchasing. Even though they have a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on Mohs' scale, emeralds are sometimes brittle. Emeralds should only be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can cause breaks in emerald jewelry.

    "When I ordered this Emerald, I did it strictly for the price. Boy, am I glad I did. This gem is gorgeous! It has a beautiful bright grass green with blue undertones (not pale in any way), and sparkles like crazy. I was shocked. It does have some inclusions within it, but all I see when I look at it is lots of sparkle and color, color, color! A definate must have."
