    Prehnite is a pale yellowish to light green stone, sometimes even resembling jade, but prehnite often displays a unique glow or sheen. It was named after its discoverer, Hendrik Van Prehn, a Dutchman who brought prehnite from Africa to Europe in the late 1700s. Prehnite ranks a 6 to 6.5 on Mohs' hardness scale and primary sources include Australia, Scotland, and South Africa (Kalahari).

    "I received a big (14ct) stone and it is really pretty. The color is not quite a saturated as the picture, but it's beautiful nonetheless. I gave the stone I received a "good" rating instead of "excellent", because it did have minor inclusions visible to the eye. Still, I'm keeping this beauty for a wire wrap pendant ... it is an excellent value, and will be the perfect center piece for jewelry."
