"a very beautiful ring. The Tanzanite in this ring is quite nice. It is a blueish purple outside in natural lighting and looks more purple indoors in incandescent lighting, as most tanzanites, regardless of size do. Of course we all know all stones are not identical, no two are the same and are never as blue as the photos, at least in my experience, unless you are in the 6,000 up range so I never expect the rings to look like the pictures (deep blue color) to begin with, that way I am not so disappointed on the tanz color when I receive the item. Clarity of Tanz is very good as always with JTV's Tanzanites I have seen in this price range. The baguette diamonds are very good quality, relatively clean, white and boy, do they sparkle! Side diamonds aren't great in this ring but they will pass since the baguettes are so beautiful. I am so thrilled when I see YELLOW GOLD settings as most are white gold which might as well be silver with rhodium plating to me as I cannot tell the difference. Gold , to me, has always been yellow. Also like the warmness of yellow gold. This ring should please white gold lovers too as the diamonds show mostly and they are white...not that much of the gold shows . The ring has nice frontal size-not too large not too small so should please most in size. I went into the only Jewelry store in town that specializes in tanzanites and they wanted 1600+6% tax for the stone alone comparable in size and color to this one. So, you get the stone and the 14kt gold and diamond setting for much less than that with this ring. If you have this much to spend, I doubt you would regret purchasing this piece or could do much, if any, better even on JTV. It is a very pretty ring."

"WHEN THE RING CAME I OPENED THE BOX AND COULD NOT BELEIVE MY EYES. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND MORE, THE TANZANITE WAS BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. AND THE BAGGETTS WERE SPARKING LIKE THE CHRISMAS LIGHTES BEHIND THE DIAMONG. I WAS SO HAPPY THAT I BOUGHT TWO OF THE SAME RING TO KEEP IN MY COLLECTION. THE DIAMONGS WERE VERY CLEAR. I HAVE HAD BAD RESULT WITH JTV BUT ONLY ONCE, THE REALLY CAME THROW ON THIS ONE."

"This was my second tanzanite ring to return. I returned the first due to poor quality of the stones so I was anxious about receiving this ring. The band on this ring is so thin and light weight. Not what you expect for the quality of the tanzanite and the cost of the ring. The tanzanite was a beautiful blue not purple but the diamonds around the tanzanite were horrible. Several looked dirty for a lack of a better word. There was very little fire and sparkle. They were dull and lifeless as were the tiny diamond 'accents' on the band itself. I was so disappointed. This ring has already been sent back. I'm not giving up tho."

Fast Facts
| The mineral zoisite was discovered around 1805 in the Austrian area by a Baron for whom it was named. It was usually brown in color, often nearly opaque. |
| The discovery by accident of the tanzanite version, in the late 1960's was a great surprise in Tanzania Africa, where it was first thought to be sapphire crystals. |
| The name Tanzanite was coined by Tiffany who had first and exclusive rights to the pretty blue violet mineral for many years. |
| Wearing a well-cut Tanzanite communicates self-confidence, individuality, and maturity. |
Its brilliant color and its exclusive origin in Tanzania combine to make Tanzanite a unique and highly sought after gemstone. |
|
Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. It has naturally occurring shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, brown and khaki but virtually all gemstone quality crystals are heat treated to produce the highly valued shades of sapphire blue, amethyst and blue violet. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
