      As a hard 9 on Mohs' scale, sapphire is ideal for all types of jewelry. They are found in every color, and all colors other than blue are considered fancy. The most desired and expensive fancy sapphire is Padparadscha. The term "Padparadscha" comes from the Sanskrit/Singhalese words "padma" meaning "lotus" and "raga" meaning "color", because its pinkish-orange color is similar to that of the lotus flower. Some are found in Africa, but true Padparadscha sapphires are from Ceylon (Sri Lanka).

      "The picture above does not do these stones justice. The actual color is much richer and deeper; just perfect deep sparkling orange. This is a great set, since you have stones for a pair of earrings and a pendant. I love the color, durability of (lab created) sapphire, and the price cannot be beat. This is one of my most favorite gemstone purchases."
