The most desired and expensive fancy sapphire is Padparadscha. The term "Padparadscha" comes from the Sanskrit/Singhalese words "padma" meaning "lotus" and "raga" meaning "color", because its pinkish-orange color is similar to that of the lotus flower. Some are found in Africa, but true Padparadscha sapphires are from Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
