"I really like this ring....but it was just a bit petite for my tastes. I prefer a larger gemstone. It's going back."

"I would like to say thank you jtv for this not only gorgeous but rare and intriguing ring. I am amazed at the changing of color but also the lovely setting and comfort of the ring. truly I am not rich but i feel rich when i wear the ring. As for the rarity of the alexandrite stone i am in a rare club ! How fortunate I am. I am thinking of selling my wedding band so i can keep the ring and use it for my wedding band. God Bless You All, JTV!"

"This is a beautiful ring and a real bargain. If you're a June baby and always wanted an alexandrite ring but the price kept you from it, this ring is perfect: not too expensive and real alexandrite."

"I never sleep with my jewelry on but I might with this ring! I've always wanted to own an Alexandrite and now I can't believe I have one. JTV doesn't have exhaustive styles but this is the prettiest one they have. It's a better bargain than the one Robert showcased last that he got so excited about. It doesn't say it's Russian but the price was great. I just love watching the colors change. It was green out of the box but also has tanzanite blue and rhododite pink. I think I even saw orange! I will definitely enjoy wearing this bauble!!! I won't loupe it too soon...don't want to be disappointed the least bit. The diamonds and their settings look splendid and are really white around the colored stones. The setting is smooth and sturdy making it a daily wearable. I've been buying a lot of jewelry over the last two months and this is the best so far. G'nite!"

| Alexandrite, a grass green chrysoberyl, changes color to a raspberry red under incandescent light. |

On Mohs’ scale of hardness, it is 8.5, making chrysoberyl among the hardest gemstones. Sources include Brazil, Sri Lanka, Burma (Myanmar), Russia (Urals), Zimbabwe and the United States.
Color
Chrysoberyl cat’s eye is a highly prized gemstone in the chrysoberyl family. The shortened term “cat’s eye” always refers to chrysoberyl cat’s eye. When cut in a cabochon or dome style, it displays fine, parallel lines of moving light rays that appear similar to the pupil of a cat. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, it is fairly hard at 8.5. Primary sources include Sri Lanka and Brazil as well as China, India, and Zimbabwe.
