"I have 20+ tanzanite pieces and was looking forward to adding these earrings to my collection, but was very disappointed. The color was pale and the earrings looked smaller than they appear online. I have long hair and was hoping these earrings would standout, but they just looked like an elongated stud from a distance."

"Oh my God, I received my earrings this afternoon and I was shocked. I finally got blue tanzanites, these earrings are outstanding and I am thrilled beyond belief. I have purchased many stones (tanzanites) from JTV and unfortunately they haven't been the color that I have truly wanted and finally after 4 long years I finally got the perfect color. The earrings are blue with purple flashing and believe me that is fine by me. I'm just tired of getting the purple with a hint of blue in them. I purchased these thanks to Angela, she sold me on the earrings especially when she showed a couple of pairs and the pairs matched in color. I realize that sometimes the product looks very different on television and on the computer than it does when you get them especially tanzanites unless you spend a fortune. Well I have to tell you the computer picture doesn't do these earrings justice and they are as blue in person as they appear on t.v. I am so glad that I took the leap again and purchased these. Thank you Angela, and the customer servcie person that took my order (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) these earrings were well worth their price and I have already received several compliments from people out in the street. I absolutely love them and am very very happy. I'm hoping to be able to get a pair for my mother because the coloring is perfect and they look great on brown skin. Thanks JTV for making me look like a million bucks. You are my one and only jewelery store. (aka Alexis/Lex)"

Fast Facts
| The mineral zoisite was discovered around 1805 in the Austrian area by a Baron for whom it was named. It was usually brown in color, often nearly opaque. |
| The discovery by accident of the tanzanite version, in the late 1960's was a great surprise in Tanzania Africa, where it was first thought to be sapphire crystals. |
| The name Tanzanite was coined by Tiffany who had first and exclusive rights to the pretty blue violet mineral for many years. |
| Wearing a well-cut Tanzanite communicates self-confidence, individuality, and maturity. |
Its brilliant color and its exclusive origin in Tanzania combine to make Tanzanite a unique and highly sought after gemstone. |
|
Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. It has naturally occurring shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, brown and khaki but virtually all gemstone quality crystals are heat treated to produce the highly valued shades of sapphire blue, amethyst and blue violet. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
