"This is my first snap set casting from JTV...I bought these for my newly purchased 5mm pink zirons. I was skeptical that making these earrings would be easy -- but oh my!! The setting snapped perfectly around the gems. Wow. And the value for 10k white gold? Unbelievable. I'm buying more of these!!"

"I bought these to make my niece a pair of earrings, but when they came in, they were bent. I will be sending them back. I don't know if it was just a fluke or if it was damaged during shipping. I haven't had any problems before. I will still continue to order many items from JTV."

"Yes, these are lightweight castings, but for $13 and the price of gold (esp. white gold) being what it is, these are more than a just a good value, they're terrific. I find them easy to use, but the key word is gentle. It will help if you have the magnifying visor (or your reading glasses) on, and a pair of small jewelry-size pliers (even tweezers will work). As simple studs, 5mm is a tasteful size and they look elegant even just by themselves. I bought these to use with gemstones I already have, along with the 1.33ct zircon earring semi mounts, and the effect is stunning...they fit perfectly and look like very, very expensive earrings. If you have bought gemstone parcels from JTV, no doubt you likely have stones that can be set into earrings, rings, or pendants, so these snap set castings are a logical choice. And even if you don't have stones ready to be set, you can look for 5mm matched pairs or parcels on this website, and get exactly what you want (no, I don't work for JTV!). For not a lot of money, you could have a multi-color earring wardrobe that will look like a million bucks. I particularly recommend the 6-7mm Akoya pearl studs for $20, which also work perfectly with those zircon earring jackets. I get compliments all the time on my earrings that look like I spent thousands, so if you are a creative type, you can too! These snap set castings are an item that I've bought in multiples, and are a staple of the jewelry I enjoy putting together. Although I understand that some people have had difficulty using them, if you are patient, gentle, and can tweak them a little bit, you should be able to make them work for you."

"I have been reluctant to order the snap tight castings. But after watching sooo many demonstration on air, I thought OK, I'll give this a shot. Like one of the other reviewers stated, one went in smoothly. But, the other casting had a bent prong-I nudged it back but the stone wouldn't set. What a huge let down. The metal was quite flimsy as well. I really like the concept-but I think something needs to go back to the drawing board with this one."
