"I was shopping @ a discount designer clothing/jewelry store. I saw the most beautiful pendant that was pave' set, but more specfically, set with beautiful "stones". It cost $49.99. The sticker said, crystal...I thought, it is too faceted, sparkly, and the quality of the finished back and open place for each stone just left me wondering. Well, I can't let it go that it is too beautiful, I had to know.Could it be diamonds? I have too many pieces to be wrong. So I went to the most prestigious jewelry store in business for 127 years and the great grandfather had been on expeditions for new and exotic stones with "real name droppers. The great grandson who currently owns the store and is in is fiftys, just so you know he is a mature and a responsible gemologist. He too has been on the Labradorite search which he shared many very unusal pieces. He took the pendant and determined what type of stone was in this beautiful, but, classic pendant..they were diamonds! He couldn't believe that I got it in a "closeout" that somone had marked crystals. I'm sorry for the long review, but, the reason I bought it was I had saw this ring and I thought it would look so close, no one would know. I ordered the ring from JTV, OMG it is a SOLID MATCH! The diamonds are a better quality, but, these diamonds are awesome in the ring. It has a classic look, it sparkles unbelievable and unless you set with a loop you cannot tell the difference. The ring is awesome and I wore it back to the store and told them the story. The jeweler did an appraisal on the pendant and the ring. The pendant was $1500.00 and the ring was 1250.00' Remember the pendant was $49.99 and you can see the price on the ring. Again, JTV proves over and over that the jewelry we rec'd is of the most unbelievable quality.Sometimes we see it in stores and see actual prices. But, JTV knows when we are getting a deal and they know when we are getting diamonds and crystals. Thank you many times over for allowing me and others to have jewelry that we would otherwise dream only about!"

Fast Facts
| Diamond is the hardest known gemstone on earth. |
| In 1477, Archduke Maximillian gave his betrothed a ring set with a diamond as a love token, making it the first recorded diamond engagement ring. |
| Diamond comes from the Greek word “adamas” meaning invincible. |
| Some beautiful purple color garnets will often be found in kimberlite (blue ground) soil samples in diamond rich areas and called diamond indicators. |
As diamonds are formed by nature, most naturally develop minute imperfections known as inclusions. A diamond is considered “clean” if a trained eye cannot see inclusions when viewing the diamond through a color corrected lens at 10 times magnification. |
|
Diamond is crystallized carbon, the only gem composed of a single element. The most popular diamonds are traditionally colorless, but they can also be found in yellow and brown colors. Although much rarer, diamonds known as “fancies” also come in blue, red, pink, green, orange, black, lavender and purple. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, diamond is the world’s hardest substance at 10. It has a high luster and primary sources include South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Botswana, Russia, Zaire, Brazil, Ghana, Angola, Central African Republic and Canada.
