"I was very excited when I ordered this ring, and very disappointed when I opened the box. The ring is actually quite pretty, but it is not a rubellite tourmaline. It is a soft pink tourmaline. I do own other pink tourmalines and it is a pretty stone. However, it should be advertised as a pink tourmaline and not a rubellite. I had my heart set on a rubellite. Not sure if I'm keeping this one."

"While the ring is quite pretty, I was expecting the rulbellite to be purple as it was in the picture. Instead, it's pink -- a pretty pink -- but not purple. Haven't decided about keeping it yet."

"My husband got me this ring for our anniversary. It is easily one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry that I have. The tourmaline is a deep pink and the sapphires compliment it perfectly. The diamonds are clean and bright and because they are set in rose gold they look like pink diamonds. I have received more compliments on this ring than probably any other single ring I own. The profile is low and doesn't snag on my gloves which is also a plus!! This is a beautiful design and I love this ring."

"This is my new favorite! Although the stones were a slightly different color than those displayed on the Internet, I thought the color was even better, for there was a slight brown undertone to the Rubellite which is set off perfectly by the pink sapphires. The size is good, the color is good, the setting is lovely....oh yah!"

Fast Facts
Red to pink colors of tourmaline are often referred to as rubellite.
Perfect for everyday wear, tourmaline is fairly durable at 7.5 on the Mohs’ scale and has no cleavage (reducing breakage and chipping).
Sometimes referred to as the “electric stone,” tourmaline becomes statically charged when heated or rubbed, attracting dust, lint and small pieces of paper.
Tourmaline possesses one of the widest color ranges, reproducing every conceivable color in the universe.
Brazil stands as the most important supplier of tourmaline.
