    Yag is short for yttrium aluminum garnet. Yag is a manmade gemstone that, like CZ, does not have a counterpart in nature. Yag has the same basic crystal structure of garnet but is not garnet. Dopants are added to the mix to create the various colors that yag is created in. It's a fun and affordable diamond stimulant ranking a durable 8 on Mohs' hardness scale.

    "I have returned only a few of jtv stones (and I have quite a few) but these guys have to go back. I was watching a gemstone show with Tommy and was really impressed with the sparkle and the way they were raving over what a good diamond replacement they are........... well, the look like a fake.
    I really wish they didn't ~ and since they are simulants I don't want to put it in
    my collection of gemstones.

    I think I got what a paid for.......so no big deal. Jtv still has the best natural
    stones to add to my collection."
