"My stone is darker (prettier!) than the one pictured online, and it is a nice shade of green unlike any other stone...lighter than chrome diopside or tsavorite, darker than true emerald, blue-er than peridot; all in all unique and pretty. The stone is clear, with a nice color saturation. I put it in a $100 JTV semi mount (now out of stock), and the overall look is much more expensive than my investment. I've also tried the tanzanite treated topaz, and am thrilled with that, too. All in all, you can't go wrong for the durability factor and the price. I never would have known about this stone except for Scott's enthusiastic endorsement, so I'm glad I listened. Lovely stone!"

Fast Facts
| The origin of the name could be from the ancient Topasos Islands near Greece. |
| Topaz can be very costly and rare when they occur naturally in unusual colors. All colors have been a popular choice for jewelry since European royalty started collecting gemstones. |
| Europeans preferred colorless Topaz as a substitute for diamond when those stones were unavailable. The reason was because it was often available in excellent clarity rough and took a beautiful high polish. |
Topaz is the birthstone of December. |
