"I purchased this as a gift for my friend's birthday - June 1. It is lovely, and can't wait to give it to her. I may have to get one for myself as well!"

"I was so excited to get this lovely pendant when I opened the box, however, it has no color change under any kind of light. I had it outside in the bright Florida sunshine, under florescent light and under an indandescent light, and there was hardly a bit of color change at all. Barely sparkled a little pink in one corner; however, it is a pretty and well made pendant if you do not mind the fact that there is no change in color. I am giving it only 4 stars due to that fact. The 3 little stones at the top of the bale look nice. The chain is a loser though. I have a real Alexandrite ring which changes, so will keep looking for another pendant."

"I read the reviews because I was looking for an Alexandrite that had more purple. My daughter likes purple. This one does. This is so beautiful I can't wait to give it to my daughter. The color change is fantastic and it looks great in all light. The necklace looks better than in the pictures. I am so please. If you like Alexandrite this one is worth it."

"The pendant is just beautiful. Nice color change. I am not impressed at all with your "free chains". I had to spend 30 minutes untangelling it first and they are kind of cheap. The pendant however is worth the $. I have come to love the lab ceated alexandrite, it is becoming one of my most favorite stones."

On Mohs’ scale of hardness, it is 8.5, making chrysoberyl among the hardest gemstones. Sources include Brazil, Sri Lanka, Burma (Myanmar), Russia (Urals), Zimbabwe and the United States.
Color
Chrysoberyl cat’s eye is a highly prized gemstone in the chrysoberyl family. The shortened term “cat’s eye” always refers to chrysoberyl cat’s eye. When cut in a cabochon or dome style, it displays fine, parallel lines of moving light rays that appear similar to the pupil of a cat. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, it is fairly hard at 8.5. Primary sources include Sri Lanka and Brazil as well as China, India, and Zimbabwe.
