"This is beautiful! I got it and the matching earrings for my mother's birthday. The garnet is her birthstone, and she loves the deep red color of most garnets. These are more of a purple, even though the description specifically said the stones were red. That was a disappointment, but the pedant and earrings are so pretty! Now if only JTV had a nice white gold chain to put the pendant on..."

"I wanted to give a garnet to my sis-in-law as a birthday present because her 3 children are Jan. babies. I ordered 5 of these pendants hoping to pick out the prettiest one. They ALL had poor quality cutting and only one had a nice color (the rest were dark muddy brownish red) I live in NJ and we have garnets-a-plenty so I KNOW what garnets look like. Red garnets are inexpensive so maybe novice cutters were...practicing on these stones. Sadly, I had no choice but to give her a dark color, no top damage, but the bottom point was chipped off! And I had to purchase a stronger chain. I hope to get a better one someday and secretly switch pendants!! I'll have to order more on free shipping day."
