"I debated on getting this ring b/c of the comments about lack of color - well, they were really right on the money. The ring is not at all the color blue shown. The color is more of a blue/violet, certainly more violet than blue. That being said, I still really like the ring. The setting is just gorgoeus. You can't tell how bright the diamonds are in the picture, they really sparkle. and while the tanzanite isn't as blue as I would have liked it's still a very pretty stone. To be honest, while I was hoping for the blue in the picture, I wasn't really counting on it at this price! For the price I think it's a very good value tanzanite."

"I Ordered what was pictured on the TV. Beautiful colored stone, brilliant bright blue, real depth of color. What I recieved was a very nice ring except EVERYONE who looked at it said amethist???
The stone was very pale with more hints of pink than blue. It's now the way back and my wife has no Christmas present."

Tanzanite is a variety of zoisite. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tanzanite is 6.5-7. The prime source of all the world’s tanzanite is in Tanzania near Arusha.
