    "I had previously ordered a snap set casting in yellow gold for peridot stones I had. Those castings had six prongs and the stones were held much more securely. These castings, while servicable until I can order a better pair, only have four prongs and the stones don't sit level and I worry that one of the stones might come out. I will wear them, carefully, until I can order another pair with six prongs. I love jewelry television and will continue to purchase from them. 99% of the items I have ordered have either met or surpassed my expectations."

    "I'm sorry but i'm really debating on this as they are very thin the backs slide on with the greatest of ease which says that they will also slide off with ease and there you go without your gem and earring. The cost of insuring and shipping back is about half the cost of this item. Give me a heavier casting even if i have to go to jeweler to have set and i would be much happier. and quite frankly i'm very sure JTV would sell alot more of their castings. Unless they do just don't think i'll go this route again its a waste of my time and money let alone being very frustrating."

    "I received three sets of 10k gold snap set earring castings today. This set worked the best for me of the three. The 5mm round and the 7x5 oval seemed to loose their round or oval shape as I pushed them down over the stones, leaving the stones wanting to tilt instead of sit flat. These 6mm rounds fit the blue topaz I was using very well, and they didn't go out of round.

    They are very light weight gold. Very maleable. I think if I had more expensive stones than my 99cents per carat gem parcel stones, I think I would definetly skip the snap sets and pay the extra money for more sturdy settings."

    "The snap set castings are essential if you have gemstone parcels and want to put some of your stones in jewelry quickly and inexpensively. These castings are thin and lightweight, but easy enough to use, although sometimes you have to use your jewelry pliers to tighten up the fit, or bend the prongs slightly, etc. Still, they are a very worthwhile buy, and if you wear a lot of earring studs these allow you to make any color earrings you could ever want."
