    "The color is definitely more of a sand-beige than the peachy color I had hoped for, but there is definitely the occasional peach hue when examining under a microscope. I am also waiting for the rutilated quartz set of two, as I have plans to combine the rutilated quartz with the peach moonstone and an endless strand of natural potato pearls to create a multi-strand torsade, which will be finished with a natural seashell ornament for a focal point. I am very happy with this purchase. I like items that stir creative thinking and allow an individual's imagination to make the final statement. Thanks for bringing these options to your viewers. For those considering this purchase, the value is excellent and the quality is quite good. I think you will be pleased."

    The glowing sheen actually results from interplay of light with layers of tiny albite crystals known as “adularescence.”

    Hindus considered moonstone sacred and ancient Romans believed the inner glow waxed and waned according to the cycles of the moon.
    The finest moonstone comes from Myanmar and Sri Lanka.




    Moonstone is a gemstone in the Feldspar family. It exhibits a range of colors including yellow, a pale silver sheen, a blue and even pink. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, moonstone is 6-6.5. It has a vitreous luster and primary sources include Sri Lanka, Burma (Myanmar), Brazil, India, Madagascar and the United States.
