It is found in Myanmar (Burma), Madagascar, Brazil, Africa, Siberia, Autralia, Sri Lanka (Ceylon), and North America.

    Indicolite is a form of tourmaline that is blue in all shades.
    Perfect for everyday wear, tourmaline is fairly durable at 7.5 on the Mohs’ scale and has no cleavage (reducing breakage and chipping).
    Sometimes referred to as the “electric stone,” tourmaline becomes statically charged when heated or rubbed, attracting dust, lint and small pieces of paper.




    Indicolite is a gemstone variety of the tourmaline group. It exhibits a wide range of stunning blue shades. On Mohs scale of hardness, indicolite is 7-7.5. It has a vitreous luster on crystal surfaces and a greasy luster on fractures. Sources include Brazil (Minas Gerais, Paraida), Afghanistan, Australia, Burma (Myanmar), India, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, the United States (California, Maine), Zaire, Elba (Italy) and Switzerland (Tessin).
