"The sparkle of the diamonds and the weight of the gold band alone seem worth the sale price. The Tsavorite stone is very clear, it is a "softer" green color than I wish, but still very pretty. The ring's unique swirl design is quite feminine and I am more than happy with my JTV purchase."

In 1967, British geologist Campbell Bridges was prospecting in northeastern Tanzania when he discovered green grossularite (a member of the garnet family). Today we call these beautiful and highly transparent green gems tsavorite.
Tsavorites are characterized by a range of brilliant greens from spring-like pale green to intense blue green to deep forest green.




Tsavorite is a gemstone within the Garnet family.
It exhibits a green to emerald green color. On Mohs
scale of hardness, tsavorite is 7-7.5. It has a vitreous
luster and sources include Kenya and Tanzania.
