Product Description for Min 3.25ct 12x10mm Oval Yellow Labradorite

This beautiful natural stone is a variety of plagioclase feldspar, meaning it is a mix of albite and anorthite. Feldspars are complex minerals, and identifying specific gem varieties like andesine, bytownite, and labradorite is very difficult. Working closely with our vendors, we try to clearly identify gemstones and their origins, but this is not always possible. Based on current knowledge, we are calling this gemstone labradorite. It has a durable hardness of 6 to 6.5 on Mohs' scale.

"This is a nice large stone that is cut well, is pretty clear but has specs of dirt in it that are obvious to the naked eye. It has some flashes of color but is extremely pale having virtually no color and a very large clear window window in the center."
