"This isn't my first Aquamarine purchase but it's by far one of my BEST. I've never seen such a beautiful BLUE Aqua in my life! It's just as the photo shows the color to be. So many aqua gems are sooooo light that they appear almost colorless, this isn't like that at all. If you've never exerienced the Santa Maria Aquamarine, get one! I know that I'll be looking for more before they are all gone! I'm looking forward to having this set into a ring semi-mount. Thanks once again JTV!!!"

"I have never been an aquamarine fan, but had to have one of these Santa Maria stones. I am so glad I bought one. I was pleasantly surprised to see the sparkle and fire coming out of the gem box before I even opened it. It is a beautiful stone. I wish I had more. Last night on a very pricey jewelry channel, they were selling the same stones(old mine stones they said) for more than I paid. I think my stone is better."

"I do not know what the fuss is about santa maria aqua, as I did not find these to be a particularly dark blue so as to justify the higher price. That said, the stones were a lovely blue, just not as dark as shown, and were eye-clean."

    Lore

Ancient sailors traveled with aquamarine crystals, believing that it would insure a safe passage, and often slept with the stones under their pillow to insure sound sleep. They believed the siren’s (mermaid) fish-like lower body was made of aquamarine.
