Product Description for Min 3.25ct 12x10mm Oval Yellow Labradorite-LYV12102BQThis beautiful natural stone is a variety of plagioclase feldspar, meaning it is a mix of albite and anorthite. Feldspars are complex minerals, and identifying specific gem varieties like andesine, bytownite, and labradorite is very difficult. Working closely with our vendors, we try to clearly identify gemstones and their origins, but this is not always possible. Based on current knowledge, we are calling this gemstone labradorite. It has a durable hardness of 6 to 6.5 on Mohs' scale.

"Since I am new to gemstones, especially yellow labradorite, I am not sure if this is a top grade gem or not. But I am trusting Scott when he states that this could become a very valuable gem someday. So, I am beginning to collect it. I hope it becomes the next tanzanite! Thanks to Scott and his fellow hosts that teach me so much and who make purchasing gems so much fun."
