    "The clarity and fire of these danburite stud earring is as good as the finest diamond. I wish the color were whiter. But I kept the earrings and enjoy them immensely because the sale price made them such a good value--the ornate gold castings alone made them worth the price. Just don't wear these earrings with a very white diamond pendant."

    Originally discovered under the city of Danbury, Connecticut, danburite is now mined from Myanmar (Burma), Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia, and Connecticut.




    Danburite is a lesser known gemstone originally discovered in Danbury, Connecticut. It is found in colors of wine-yellow, brown and even pink. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, danburite is 7-7.5. It has a vitreous or greasy luster and sources include Burma (Myanmar), Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and Connecticut.
