Product Description for Min 2.00ct 9mm Round Yellow Labradorite

This beautiful natural stone is a variety of plagioclase feldspar, meaning it is a mix of albite and anorthite. Feldspars are complex minerals, and identifying specific gem varieties like andesine, bytownite, and labradorite is very difficult. Working closely with our vendors, we try to clearly identify gemstones and their origins, but this is not always possible. Based on current knowledge, we are calling this gemstone labradorite. It has a durable hardness of 6 to 6.5 on Mohs' scale.

"I had purchased a 10mm yellow lab to put into a ring of the same size. However, the prongs are too short to support a gem of that size. This one seems to fit the bill and I can't wait to get it set into the ring. It's a beautiful gem as all of my yellow labs are. The cut is wonderful, it's a beautiful soft yellow, and is eye clean. What more can you ask for? Maybe longer prongs on the semi-mounts......"
