    The name "emerald" comes from the Greek "smaragdos" meaning "green stone." Except the rare few, emeralds have inclusions that are generally accepted as well as treatments, which are normally stated and should not be a deterrent to purchasing. Even though they have a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on Mohs' scale, emeralds are sometimes brittle. Emeralds should only be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can cause breaks in emerald jewelry.

    "This is just what I have been looking for! Though the stones are not extremely translucent, they are of even color and the size is perfect for my work! I would definitely reorder on these! I was a little disappointed with the time it took to get my complete order but it was well worth the wait!"

    "I have purchased several mixed gem parcels, but not a parcel of a single gem. This was a incredible purchase. I have looped several of the stones, and the color and translucency is better than you can get in a retail jewelry store. Even though the gems are not huge, the quality is much better than I expected in a parcel. If you love emeralds, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You could pay more for one of the better stones in this group than you paid for the entire parcel."
