"I'm kind of new to gem collecting, but when I got this parcel I thought 3 things. 1) Nice color (light and dark pink/purple) and clarity (fire and sparkle). 2) I couldn't tell the cut without a microscope they were that small (looked like pink inclusions pulled from stones). There were 10.2 ct, but looked like over 60 stones. 3) How quickly would I get a refund when I return this package?"

"I bought this parcel exspecting to use them in Earrings, they are not useable, they are accent stones so small you need a magnifing Glass just to see them. The Show host showed a parcel of 6x4mm ovals. This is not what we got. I sent them back. The colors vary. Some are very light on color, almost white. Very Disappointed."

"This parcel was not what I expected. It was a little smaller stone size. I thought I would get maybe one 7x5 out of the bunch but none of them were that large. I sent this one back to JTV due to it was not what I needed. This would be very good for accent stones or a cluster ring."

    Fast Facts

Tourmaline is a fascinating mineral that can actually exhibit two or more colors in one crystal. It possesses one of the widest color ranges, reproducing every conceivable color in the universe. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, tourmaline is 7.5. It is vitreous on crystal surfaces, and because of that the polished stones will have a beautiful brilliance. Sources include Brazil (Minas Gerais, Paraiba), Afghanistan, Australia, Burma (Myanmar), India, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, the United States (California, Maine), Zaire, Elba (Italy) and Switzerland (Tessin).
