    "I purchased this for my recent vacation to Alaska. Without this guide, I wouldn't have found the Crow Creek or the Independence Mines. What a fun trip! I was actually able to drag my teenage grandchildren away from their video games! The guide is clear in its directions and advice. I intend to collect all the guides for the whole country. Who knew that there were places to actually pan for and keep gold! I can't wait to try other locations."

    "I was looking forward to a gem and mineral guide for the PNW (where I live) but there isn't much in the way of "guide" material, a little general knowledge but not much specific for our area. The "treasure hunters guide" material really only lists a few of the local pay to use "fee" sites, misses quite a lot of those that I have heard about, and doesn't really cover much in the way of showing maps on how to get to free collecting sites (even if you need a permit) and didn't really give good information on how to write or contact those government sites for finding out that information either. I wouldn't recommend this book."

    "I have a few local books to go rock hounding with, but this is one that seems to fill in the cracks as it were, with info that was not in the others and as well the other way. I expected a more defined, mapped out sort of publication, but really, this is quite a good book for an entire region that has remarkable gemstones to find. Thanks for reading and good luck"

    "I have been looking for these books mostly the northwest one and bought that one too. They are for my husband for Christmas. He has wanted to go and gem/treasure hunt for so long. I have looked for the south and north west here and there and they are the only ones that are always out, ordered them when I saw them on JTV. My only regret is that I did not see the set of 4 with the rough before I got these. Happy treasure hunting! These books will give you the numbers and times of operation of places you can go to do your own gem/treasure hunting. This is really great because now we can plan a trip and stop along the way or plan to just treasure hunt."
