"I loved this piece when I helped my husband pick it out for my Christmas gift. I noticed the matching ring was 'flattening' on the bottom where it would touch my desk at work. Upon examining the remainder of the matching Byzantine pieces I bought, necklace, bracelet, earrings, heart pendant, they are ALL hollow enough that my fingernail can crease the gold! SOLID gold pieces don't crease, only HOLLOW ones do. I am very disappointed in these pieces and will be returning them. I'm very sorry to have purchased this jewelry. What I thought was a great value, isn't. Jewelry like this is a once in a lifetime purchase. Hollow gold won't last. Sad, very sad."

"Visually - this piece is very elegant without being over-the-top. It is perfect for the office or an evening out. Texturally - this necklace has a light, buttery feel to it. It rides well around the neck. Weight wise, the piece is a little deceiving. It is over 16 grams of 14Kt gold, but because it is constructed of very airy, open links it appears larger in size and therefore does not "feel" as heavy as it "looks". Some may find this to be disappointing, expecting a heavy chain. It is not that. But gold jewelry should always be looked at on a cost per gram basis. $490 divided by ~16 grams is about $30 per gram 14Kt. Compare that to other gold necklaces at JTV and you'll see it is a very good price. For the actual gold value, 16.28 grams is about .58 of an ounce. 14Kt gold is about 58% pure gold. So this piece contains about .34 ounces of pure gold. At $800 an ounce, that's about $272 in gold content. Again, very good."
