Product Description for Min 3.00ct 11x9mm Oval Yellow Labradorite-YBV11902BQThis beautiful natural stone is a variety of plagioclase feldspar, meaning it is a mix of albite and anorthite. Feldspars are complex minerals, and identifying specific gem varieties like andesine, bytownite, and labradorite is very difficult. Working closely with our vendors, we try to clearly identify gemstones and their origins, but this is not always possible. Based on current knowledge, we are calling this gemstone labradorite. It has a durable hardness of 6 to 6.5 on Mohs' scale.

"The gem was a very washed out looking color. The cut was not a true oval. Worst of all, the gem weighed in UNDER the 3 carat minimum that the description said it was. I am saddened that JTV has gone down so much in its service and its quality of items. This is my last purchase from them..."
