Product Description for Min 1.33ct 7mm Round Paraiba Tourmaline-T96R000001

Tourmaline was named after "turmali", the Sinhalese word for "mixed", probably because of the variety of colors it's found in and the fact that it can be bi-, tri- or parti-colored. Tourmaline ranks a tough 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness. It is the national gemstone of the U.S. but is found all over the world, with colors varying depending on its origin. Indicolite is the name for the deep blue to greenish-blue variety, and rubellite is the pink-red color.

"This stone is clear, brilliant and the most beautiful cyan color. The color is bright, but not that deep. However, it is uniform from every angle This stone will definitely attract attention no matter how it is mounted. Well worth the high price."
