"I really like the design of this ring. It has interesting lines and I like the texturing in the gold around the stone. This is in contrast to the high polished band which tapers beautifully but still has ample gold in the back! The stone is a medium purple and the checkerboarding really catches the light. I even caught a blue flash or two in bright sunlight. Some hot pink reveals itself on occasion as well. What an interesting stone! I love how the setting curves over the top of the finger allowing the ring to lay nicely and comfortably. My only wish is that the diamond accents were of better quality or if white zircon or topaz was used there instead. Amethyst is my birthstone and I really enjoy this one. Thanks JTV"

"This is the MOST beautiful ring I have purchased from JTV...and I have several. The deep vivid purple African Amethyst is gorgeous! I completely disagree with the other reviewer who thought the gold setting was too much. The size, cut, and incredible sparkle of the stone are significant, and therefore perfectly balanced with the substantial gold setting. The textured gold around the stone really gives it extra sparkle. This ring is not only stunning but very well made and just outright gorgeous. Overall, it is a very regal and elegant look and among the most beautiful Amethyst stones I have ever seen!"
