In almost 20 years of buying rose quartz crystal jewelry, it's this shade: a light pastel pink :) I do hope others don't turn down the gem thinking something is missing: darker pink quartz is dyed. The strands are surprisingly strong too, handling my daughter's daily wear & a busy lifestyle with little ones. The pink color makes it easy to see why rose quartz is thought of as "the love stone' -- by simply wearing the light pink quartz crystals, one's love for oneself (and thus for others) grows. It's also said that wearing rose quartz will bring one's true love! Gemlore has it that by aligning with the energies and softness of rose quartz crystals, love will flow almost effortlessly into one's life! This is a gem of a gem, and the set is generous. Often, such strands sell for $20 each!"

    "These strands have been saved from the knacker's only because the Angel Husband has spoken up for them and declared they have a certain subtle charm. For me, the fact that rose quartz is barely blush is a no-no. If you don't mind having the slightest hint of pink, by all means, avail yourself of the fair price and very nice length."

    In 1921, it was discovered that quartz can generate an electrical charge.
    Throughout history, quartz was considered to hold the power of communication or divination. Interestingly, quartz was used in the development of modern radio frequencies.
    The Greeks believed quartz was clear ice that over time had hardened into stone.





    Quartz is one of the most common gem families and can be found all around the world. Quartz comprises several different groups of gems from crystalline quartz (crystals viewable by the naked eye) and crypto-crystalline (microscopic crystals). Crystalline quartz includes amethyst, aventurine, rock crystal, blue quartz, citrine, hawk’s eye, prasiolite, quartz cat’s eye, smoky quartz, rose quartz, and tiger’s eye. Crypto-crystalline quartz is also known as chalcedony and includes agate, bloodstone, carnelian, chyrsoprase, jasper, moss agate, onyx and sard.
