Product Description for Min .40ct 5mm Round Tanzanite

Tanzanite was discovered in 1967. It has a unique violet-blue to blue color that only Ceylon sapphire and iolite come close to matching, with red-violet flashes. Tanzanite ranks a respectable 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs' scale, but loose stones and jewelry like rings and bracelets need to be treated with care to prevent damage. Tanzanite is only found in one place in the world, Tanzania, and the continued availability of tanzanite is uncertain, which increases its rarity and its price.

"I purchased these stones (2) during the inventory clearance. The price was too good to resist. For this price, the color is excellent. They are not quite as dark as other tanzanites I have purchased, but were definitely worth this price. They are a nice royal blue and have a pretty cut that catches the light nicely. I am very pleased with them."

"Well I wanted a round for my collection! I saw this on Dawn's show and thought this will be perfect. When I saw this stone, Lets say I was less than thrilled. Cut and Clarity are just perfect, but it lacks in Color. Very pale and more like an Aquamarine. Also, when I weighed this stone it turned out to be only 32 points. Oh well! better luck next time."

Do you remember you baby boomers when a 68 camero on the street was common where is it today. On Barrett Jackson this to will be rare. This stone is probally AA loupes perfect no chips or scratches."
