Heliodor is found in Brazil, Madagascar, the U.S. (North Carolina and California), in Middle Eastern countries, and Russia. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on Mohs' scale.

    "I really like that this stone is untreated. Most of the others are irradiated. There is some streaking and I'm not sure if that's because it hasn't been treated. The color is much bolder than the picture shows."
