"I couldn't beleive my eyes when I opened the box and saw this ring! It's gorgeous! The color is perfect for a aquamarine: not at all washed out and not too dark to make you wonder if it's an aqua or a topaz. The checkboard cut really makes the stone sparkle in the light, both artificial and natural. Did I mention the setting? It's very well done, especially the gallery and it holds the stone so securely. The gold content is fine and not at all flimsy. The design of this ring is very elegant, even the prongs that hold the aquamarine and the diamonds. Yes, the diamonds are not big, but you're purchasing this ring for the aquamarine, not the diamonds. They accent the ring enough to make it a fabulous piece. I still can't believe the price for this size aquamarine! There is no way that this ring will be returned. This is another fine purchase from JTV!"

"I just received my ring today and it is a stunner. I was worried that the Aquamarine would be washed out. But it isn't. It looks like a sky blue topaz color. I just love it. And the value can't be beat. I can't wait to have it appraised. Now the diamonds aren't great. I'm thinking I might have them replaced. But the setting is lovely. It allows the Aqua to take center stage. I highly recommend it."

Lore
Ancient sailors traveled with aquamarine crystals, believing that it would insure a safe passage, and often slept with the stones under their pillow to insure sound sleep. They believed the siren’s (mermaid) fish-like lower body was made of aquamarine.
