    "I purchased this along with a Brazilian Aquamarine and I can't tell the difference in the color between the two. It's chystalline, a wonderful aqua-marine blue. I can't recommend this stone highly enough and for under $20! If what the hosts say is true about Aqua, you'd be nuts not to get some!!!"

    Aqua means water, marine means blue in latin.
    Capture the vibrant blues of the sea in a stone and you have Aquamarine. From light blue to bluish green to deep blue, Aquamarine offers irresistible ranges of sea blue colors.
    A member of the beryl family (also known for emeralds), Aquamarine was referred to as sea-green beryl in ancient texts.
    American consumers have a very refined taste for aquas preferring the cool bluish tones. Many Europeans, including English, still prefer the greenish-blue (sea foam) variety.
    The two most important sources for Aquamarine are Brazil and Africa.




    Aquamarine is a member of the beryl family. It is known for its clear sky-blue color but is also found in a range of dark blues to blue-greens. On Mohs’ scale of hardness, aquamarine is 7.5-8. Its primary sources include Brazil, Russia (the Urals), Australia (Queensland), Burma (Myanmar), China, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the United States.
