Product Description for Min 1.90ct 8x8mm Cushion Cut Green Tourmaline-T6C128Tourmaline was named after "turmali", the Sinhalese word for "mixed", probably because of the variety of colors it's found in and the fact that it can be bi-, tri- or parti-colored. Tourmaline ranks a tough 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs' scale of hardness. It is the national gemstone of the U.S. but is found all over the world, with colors varying depending on its origin. Indicolite is the name for the deep blue to greenish-blue variety, and rubellite is the pink-red color.

"i had been looking for a green stone to put in as a center stone in a belle luce ring i had won on auction. after searching i found this green tourmaline. on the picture, i really liked the center green and had hoped it would be the same all the way through. but the dark edges shown were visible on the stone. it is very beautiful but i have to return it. i don't do that too often. but JTV made up for colour when i won the most beautiful apatite."
