Product Description for Min .65ctw 5mm Round Citrine Matched Pair-C2R158Citrine gets its color from traces of iron and its name from its citrus color, though it is also found in medium yellow and golden to reddish brown. Most citrine is heat treated to enhance the color, and as quartz, it ranks a 7 on the Mohs' hardness scale, making it a great choice for durable jewelry. Citrine is found mostly in Brazil, but it is also mined in Madagascar, Uruguay, Bolivia, Mexico, and Spain. Citrine sometimes serves as an alternative to topaz for the November birthstone.

"I purchased four packages of these matched pairs and they all are the exact same. Very nice, no visible inclusions, and no scatches. They were a nice rich orange color that you would expect to see in a citrine. The size will make nice accents on a ring design ... only problem is I have too many ideas for these stones. I don't know which one to use. HELP! I plan to purchase a trillon cut citrine that I saw on JTV's website. Hopefully the next citrine purchase will match the color of these. Thanks JTV."

Fast Facts
| Due to its bright earth tones, Citrine is a popular stone for jewelry designers. |
| Gloria Swanson and other great old film stars of Hollywood brought citrine to the public awareness in the late 30???s. She wore her own flamboyant citrine jewelry in her films. At that time, it was so unavailable to the general population, that it cost a fortune. Today we can have the same beautiful stones very affordably. |
Citrine enjoys a reputation for being usually clean--naturally not included.
