"This ring represents a good value, especially give today's gold prices at retail. You couldn't touch this ring in a local jewelry store for less than $200. That said, this does not have the sturdiness, rigidity or heft of a typical gold band. This is essentially a tiny byzantine chain closed by a crimped band of gold. I doubt crimped band will last "to hand down to future generations," but I expect it can be repaired when it gives out. Also, this crimp is NOT a sizing bar, so only buy this ring in your size. The byzantine link is of good quality, but does bend easily, so treat this ring with care. It looks great on the hand -- just the right width."
